The asset-light and logistics service provider Roadrunner Transportation Systems says it has acquired all of the outstanding stock and the Charleston, S.C., property of Wando Trucking, a provider of intermodal transportation and related services in the Southeast.

Wando primarily transports imports and exports including raw rubber, building materials, paper, and plastics from the ports of Charleston, S.C. and Savannah, Ga. The purchase price was approximately $9 million.

Roadrunner says during 2012 Wando generated approximately $13 million in revenues.

Roadrunner also has purchased all of the outstanding stock of Adrian Carriers, a logistics service provider offering container management and intermodal solutions based in Milan, Ill., for a total purchase price of approximately $14.2 million. Adrian manages the transportation of containerized import and export freight throughout the United States,

Roadrunner says in 2012, Adrian generated revenues of approximately $32.5 million.
