Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems launched the Bendix On-Line Brake School at www.brake-school.com, providing access to its knowledge database and technical resources.

The website features a dynamic menu of 5- to 7-minute video segments, as well as a broad range of other training tools on all aspects of electronics and air brake maintenance.

“While our in-person brake schools and traveling Service, Warranty, and Training (SWAT) team continue to be invaluable in educating technicians, distributors, and fleets, the Bendix On-Line Brake School offers a new level of training flexibility and customization,” said Barbara Gould, Bendix director of communications. “

Bendix On-Line Brake School registration is open to both companies and individuals.

In addition to Bendix’s comprehensive and interactive Air Brake Training course, the initial brake-school.com curriculum covers a range of product topics, such as:

  • Bendix ADB22Xair disc brakes
  • Reduced Stopping Distance (RSD) drum brakes
  • Air dryers and oil-coalescing cartridge technology
  • Compressors
  • Foundation drum brakes
  • SmarTire Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) by Bendix CVS
  • Valves
  • Bendix ESP Electronic Stability Program full-stability system
  • Bendix WingmanAdvancedCollision Mitigation Technology

Additional Bendix On-Line Brake School content includes segments addressing highway safety, emissions regulations, and the federal reduced stopping distance mandate.

Bendix’s established and comprehensive Brake Training School curriculum – conducted by veteran, ASE-certified SWAT team experts – teaches commercial vehicle maintenance professionals and others the description, operation, and service elements for the total range of components found within foundation and air brake systems.

The Bendix On-Line Brake School site will also host the Bendix Tech Talk Series videos, including “how-to” demonstrations and question-and-answer sessions recorded at the Mid-America Trucking Show. Work has already begun on a new series of tutorials, and additional material is in development, with plans to add new content – featuring most of its major business units – bimonthly.

Course material is covered in detailed documents, videos, and interactive presentation modules, allowing students to review the information at their own pace and on their own schedule. Knowledge checks at the end of each course measure what they’ve learned.

The password-protected site offers a variety of access levels, most of which enable companies to track their registered technicians’ and employees’ participation and progress – both individually and a complete group.
