Last week Utah state legislators to steps to expand the areas where 80 mph speed limit zones will be allowed in the future.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Utah's House Transportation Committee passed and forwarded along to the House a bill that would give the Utah Department of Transportation the authority to increase the number of 80 mph speed limit zones on certain roadways.

Those specific roadways include Interstates 15, 80 and 84, states the article.

The article went on to state that the bill would allow additional 80 mph zones in places where it was deemed safe "on I-15 between Brigham City and the Idaho state line, on I-84 between Tremonton and Idaho, and on I-80 from the Nevada line to the Tooele-Stansbury exit."
