The American Truck Historical Society will sponsor its first Historic Highway Convoy beginning Thursday, Sept. 6, in Morris, Ill. The convoy will follow Route 66, the famous "Mother Road," from Illinois to California.

In conjunction with Travel Centers of America, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, daily truck shows will take place from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at TA or Petro truckstops at each of the nine stops along the route:
- Morris, Ill.
- Troy, Ill.
- Joplin, Mo.
- Oklahoma City, Okla.
- Amarillo, Texas
- Albuquerque, N.M.
- Gallup, N.M.
- Kingman, Ariz.
- Barstow, Calif.

Convoy vehicles will arrive around 4 p.m. to conclude with an expanded truck show. The convoy will make its final stop on Sept. 15 in conjunction with the Route 66 Rendezvous, the annual automotive event held in San Bernardino, Calif.

Truck enthusiasts are encouraged to register and drive a historic truck along the entire route or a portion of the route. Local truck owners can register and show their truck at one or more locations.
