Roadrunner Transportation Systems announced it will implement a 6.9% rate increase, effective July 16. This follows announcements by several other LTL carriers about similar rate increases.

The increase will apply to all non-contractual customers using the current U.S. and Canadian base rates, the company says.

While the increase will average 6.9%, the actual increase will vary by shipment based upon lane, weight and freight classification. There will be no changes to the Roadrunner Transportation absolute minimum charge.

YRC Freight, FedEx Freight and Con-way Freight all recently announced 6.9% rate hikes, also starting in July.
