Schaupp succeeds Greg R. Hodgen of the Enid, Okla.-based Groendyke Transport Inc., who now serves as chairman of the NTTC's executive committee.

Schaupp is the president of LCL Bulk Transport Inc., a food-grade carrier based in Green Bay, Wis., that has more than 80 years of experience in the food hauling industry, specializing in liquid chocolate transportation. Schaupp is the third generation in his family to run LCL, and he follows in the footsteps of his father, Robert Schaupp, who also served as NTTC chairman from 1990 to 1991.

While with LCL Bulk, Schaupp developed a patent for the Shaker Tank, a tank truck allowing more efficient unloading of viscous foods. He remains extremely active in his local community, having served on the Heritage Hill Executive Board, chaired various Catholic elementary and high-school fundraisers, and currently serving on the YMCA Board, where he was a cabinet member of a recent YMCA capital campaign. Schaupp received a bachelor's in political science with a minor in business from St. Mary's University in Winona, Minn.

"This year I plan to focus on four main priorities, including continued implementation of the organization's strategic plan, its planned leadership transition, a streamlined organizational structure and success for the highly anticipated tank truckers' Call on Washington program coming up in June," Schaupp says.
