Atlas Van Lines has launched a moving-industry-focused inventory app, AtlasNet Inventory.

The app enables the user to quickly scan the contents of the customer's move and note the condition of each item. The customer can request that certain items be photographed using the mobile app, and a legible, descriptive inventory can be emailed or printed for the customer on the spot. In lieu of multiple pages that require signatures, the customer only needs to sign one page to authorize the final inventory report. The inventory is uploaded to Atlas systems and accessed at destination to securely identify items as they are unloaded.

If an item is inadvertently removed from the customer-signed inventory report during the transportation process, the app will catch this change. The customer will be immediately informed and provided with an updated inventory report for review and signature.

"This app allows flexibility for the customer and can quickly eliminate the headache that comes with missing items," says Mike Neeley, vice president and CIO of Atlas World Group.
