Schneider National is hiring 500 new drivers as part of its new service to support hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking," companies.

In ramping up the new service, Schneider needs to fill 500 permanent, full-time driving positions in seven states by the end of this year -- Wyoming, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana and New York.

Drivers on these accounts will be trained to transport inbound materials such as sand and cement into the oil extraction areas as well as haul crude oil and condensate from the shale formations and move equipment in and around the work sites.
