Vigillo's new Inspection Management System is a Web-based application designed to automatically track and manage all aspects of roadside inspections.

Schneider National is the first carrier to use the product from Vigillo, which specializes in data mining software that delivers deliver complex fleet safety information in an easy-to-read scorecard format.

"The Vigillo Inspection Management System ... will enable efficiencies in our current Roadside Inspection process and provide more granular visibility to violations and data discrepancies that occur at roadside inspections, enabling us to correct issues in a more timely and effective manner" and help manage the carrier's CSA scores, said Don Osterberg, senior vice president of safety, security and driver training at Schneider National.

For the first time, the Vigillo IMS allows carriers to enter or upload their master lists of drivers and vehicles and to enter or upload inspections and violations as drivers report them from the field. These master lists are then compared to inspection reports automatically captured daily from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

The Vigillo IMS identifies all mismatches coming from the FMCSA. Missing and erroneous data on inspections, violations, drivers and vehicles is highlighted and available for immediate correction in all Vigillo Scorecard Reports and for optional submission to FMCSA's DataQ's system. Any FMCSA inspection assigned to a carrier with incorrect DOT, VIN, Driver CDL, violations, dates and more will be instantly highlighted, recognizable, and actionable. In addition to identifying incorrect data coming from the FMCSA the IMS can also tag these problems for follow-up and reporting as internal workflow rules dictate.

Key benefits of the Vigillo IMS include:
* Enhanced monitoring and tracking of inspections throughout all departments
* Timely response to all inspection related issues
* Ensures all inspections are certified and returned to the states in a timely manner
* Status tracking of all inspections and violations
* Reporting and analytics on missing inspections, inspections by state, and inspections by status give a 360 degree view of all inspection/violation activity

"Every year, motor carriers operating in the United States are subjected to hundreds of thousands of roadside inspections that contain millions of violations attributed to almost 5 million drivers. High turnover, poor data quality, and CSA just add to the management challenge," said Steven G. Bryan, CEO of Vigillo.
