Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp., the parent company of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, will resume production of vehicles at the company's main Kawasaki Plant in Japan on April 20.

The Kawasaki Plant produces Mitsubishi Fuso heavy-, medium- and light-duty trucks.

This will be the first scheduled production run for the plant since the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan, except for a limited number of vehicles assembled on March 29 and 30. Over the past few weeks, MFTBC has been producing maintenance parts and parts for knock-down kits used in overseas production as well.

Mitsubishi Fuso Bus Manufacturing Co., a subsidiary of MFTBC, in Toyama, Japan, will resume production of large and small buses in the latter part of next week.

MFTBC is striving to ramp up production with safety, speed and efficiency, in support of its customers and the Japanese economy. However, due to the parts supply situation, Kawasaki and Toyama plant operations will be variable in the coming weeks, with the plants' output gradually increasing.
