Pilot has opened a new travel center with full amenities for professional drivers and the motoring public at Weed, Calif., off Interstate 5 at Exit 745.

The new, 9,971-square-foot center features four fuel islands and eight diesel islands along with a restaurant and a wide variety of convenience items. The new facility features high-speed fuel pumps that provide faster flow so customers can refuel quickly.

"We hope that Weed area residents and fleet customers will enjoy the convenient location of our new Pilot Travel Center," said Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Flying J. "We plan to serve this community not only through products and services but also by providing jobs and tax dollars to the local economic base. And, we'll fill the needs of those carrying goods to communities across the nation."

The Weed travel center includes a Subway restaurant, clean restrooms, pay phones, fax and copy services, Western Union, an ATM, check cashing services, general merchandise for professional drivers and highway travelers; and an arcade area. It also offers a full hot and cold deli featuring fresh made products such as salads, double bacon cheeseburgers and Pepperoni's handmade Italian pizza as well as an expanded grill area with Oscar Mayer hot dogs, the company says.

In addition to diesel fuel, professional drivers will have access to such services as a CAT scale, laundry services, seven automated showers and 105 parking spaces for trucks. The Weed location also features a driver kiosk, so professional drivers can get in and out of the store quickly and get on their way.

As with all other Pilot Flying J locations, the Weed travel center honors the new Frequent Fueler Advantage card and continues to honor points accumulated on the Frequent Fueler, RV Real Value Card and Driver Payback cards.

Pilot and Flying J merged last year, and both brands are still available on U.S. highways.
