Ingersoll Rand has established a green Business Partner Code of Conduct (BPCOC) to emphasize the importance of ethical, sustainable business practices among its business partners.

Created by a special Global Supply Chain and Ethics and Compliance team, the new alliance involves a supplier sustainability survey to capture information on how closely Ingersoll Rand business partners match up to the company's sustainability metrics in areas such as greenhouse gas emissions, waste production and reduction targets, and water usage.

Nearly 83 percent of the top 500 Ingersoll Rand suppliers completed the survey, which was translated into Chinese, Italian and Spanish.

"The code clearly communicates that we expect no less of our suppliers than we do of ourselves, which includes a commitment to sustainability," said John Sauter, vice president of global sourcing, Security Technologies.
