The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association is gearing up for its annual Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Group Summit, which is coming up Jan. 18 at the Mirage in Las Vegas, just prior to Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week.


The Summit will feature a two-part session on "Selling the Reman Advantage to your Customers" and "Developing Government Incentives to Encourage Remanufacturing." The sessions will be moderated by Tim Roth of Springfield Remanufacturing Corp.

In addition, Richard LeFrancois, president of Equipment Maintenance Innovators, will cover the topic of hybrid technologies. Al Lesesky, president of Vehicle Enhancement Systems, will join LeFrancois and present a snapshot of emerging technology Zigbee.

Other sessions include:

* "Electronics & Mechatronics: Their Impact on the Heavy Duty Remanufacturer," presented by Joe Kripli, Remaco Group in Etters, Pa.
* "Testing Fuel Injection Expectations Including DPF Regeneration," presented by Omar Cueto, CEO of Dieselogic.com in Jacksonville, Fla.
* "Outlook for the U.S. Economy," presented by Lein-Lein Chen, Department of Economics in the College of Business at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas
* "Carbon Footprints and Sustainability: A New Strategy for Competitive Advantage," presented by Dr. Michael Readey, president of Aeris Analytics in Boulder, Colo.
