Anne Ferro, the new administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, will kick things off at the opening session of the 47th Annual Mid-West Truckers Association Convention on Feb. 5, 2010 in Peoria, Ill.

Ferro's appointment was confirmed by the U.S. Senate, and she was sworn into office on Nov. 13. She has served as president of the Maryland Motor Truck Association since 2003.

Ferro will be faced with several key issues to the industry, including a review of current hours-of-service regulations, electronic onboard recorders and the new CSA 2010 safety rating program.

The MTA Convention and the Midwest Truck Show feature three days of informative meetings, a trade show with nearly 200 exhibitors and over 6,000 attendees.
