The new one-story building will offer the company's truck leasing, consumer and commercial rental, and contract maintenance services.
It includes five service bays, an automated truck washing bay, and a three-lane fuel island with high-speed pumps. The facility also features a wireless technology component that allows technicians to integrate vehicle diagnostic and repair software. The building also has special light bulbs with ballasts that use 50 percent less energy, and astronomical timers.
The facility is housed on 10 acres and employs 45 associates and maintains over 1,000 vehicles on site.
Penske previously operated an older facility in Annapolis Junction. The new location is at 8685 Washington Blvd.
"Penske Truck Leasing simply outgrew its Annapolis Junction location, and the time had come to relocate to a larger, modern facility," said Jack Gallagher, senior vice president of the Northeast region, Penske Truck Leasing. "Our new Jessup location is within close proximity of both I-95 and I-295 near the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. This prime locale serves a number of customers housed at nearby industrial parks."
