Women In Trucking will host a luncheon for members and potential members at the Big Rig Expo Oct. 23 at the Tulsa Convention Center.

"This will be the first lunch time event for Women In Trucking, and we wish to encourage and support our members by offering this opportunity to meet and interact with other professionals in the trucking industry," said Ellen Voie, president and CEO.

Attendees can be either women or men, and do not have to be members. There will be door prizes and the group's signature chocolate fountain for dessert. The cost is $15 per person. The event will be sponsored by Roadside Medical Clinic + Lab, the National Women Business Owners Corporation, and the Lady Truck Drivers.

"We are excited to be working with Women in Trucking to share our message of health and wellness with their members and prospective members," said Bob Perry, president for Roadside Medical Clinic + Lab and vice chair for the American Transportation Association Safety Management Council's Health & Wellness Working Group.

The Big Rig Expo 2009 is expected to bring in between 20,000 to 35,000 attendees this year, including company drivers, independent contractors, small to large trucking companies, buyers, purchasing agents and more.
