Pride Transport will deploy 220 DriverTech DT4000 TruckPC systems throughout its fleet of tractors in an effort to take advantage of the range of application choices that come with the system.

"Mobile communications systems are a cost of doing business today, and with the TruckPC we are getting a lot more capability for the same expense," said Dan DeGrazio, CIO at Pride. "These onboard computers give us room to grow beyond two-way messaging. They are used to bring business processes from the office to the truck, and to help our drivers provide our customers with the exceptional service we promise and deliver."

Salt Lake City, Utah-based Pride Transport is a family-owned and operated refrigerated carrier. The company plans on implementing DriverTech's turn-by-turn navigation system first, followed by its driver workflow items, including load assignment and proof-of-delivery features. The carrier is also eyeing DriverTech's DTScan In-cab Scanning solution.

Pride tested five units before making the switch to DriverTech. "Our drivers learned to use the system very quickly and easily," DeGrazio said. "We were very impressed with the support and training we received from DriverTech, and with the reliability and durability of the onboard units. The DT4000 TruckPCs will prove to be a very wise investment."
