Atlas Van Lines honored its drivers Tuesday during its annual Recognizing Our Atlas Drivers (ROAD) Day, a day of cookouts, picnics, competitions and other events
. This year, nearly 200 agents participated in events across the U.S. and Canada to celebrate the company's drivers.

"The hours spent, miles logged and special efforts made by our professional van operators form the foundation of Atlas' reputation," said Glen Dunkerson, chairman and CEO of Atlas World Group, parent of Atlas Van Lines. "Though we are grateful every day for the work they do, ROAD Day is an opportunity for us to have some fun and publicly recognize their service."

The Atlas headquarters participated by sending each driver an electric travel mug.

Atlas recently released its annual King of the Road survey results in conjunction with ROAD Day. The survey compiles the opinions and habits of Atlas' van operators on such things as favorite coffee (Dunkin' Donuts) and fast food (Subway), and provides interesting insights into life on the road.

With the help of sponsors, Atlas purchases additional prizes that are awarded to van operators. Past prizes have included a vacation package, electronics, gas cards and much more. This year, van operators won various VISA gift cards, thanks to sponsors Windfall Warehouse and Driver Inventory Systems, and Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions.
