Truck Insurer Expands Westward

First Guard Insurance Company, a specialty truck insurer, has been approved to write business in South Dakota.


With the newly acquired Certificate of Authority for the state, the company is now licensed in 26 states, mostly east of the Mississippi River. The company has an "A," or excellent, rating by AM Best.

"South Dakota broadens our reach westward where we see great potential for growth," said Donna Fortuna, president of First Guard.

First Guard Insurance does not market through independent insurance agents.
