The Peterbilt Model 384 has been recognized as fuel efficient and environmentally friendly by the Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay program,
which establishes a comprehensive set of fuel-saving, low-emission equipment specifications for new Class 8 long-haul tractors and trailers.

The Model 384 joins Peterbilt Models 387 and 386 as EPA SmartWay compliant, offering customers fuel savings of between 10 and 20 percent, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and significantly reduced NOx, particulate matter and other air pollutants. The Model 384 provides customers a more fuel-efficient aerodynamic design, reduced chassis weight, improved serviceability and reliability and greater overall performance.

The Peterbilt Model 384 is equipped with Peterbilt's new proprietary Aero Package combining a roof fairing and trim tabs, a sleeper roof transition, enhanced chassis fairings, an aero battery/tool box, a composite sunvisor, a 3-inch sleeper extender and aerodynamic mirrors to provide an estimated 12 percent improvement in fuel efficiency gains over a non-equipped model.

The Peterbilt Model 384 matches powerful performance with exceptional maneuverability and versatility, and is ideal for tanker, pickup and delivery, regional and short haul applications, according to the company.
