Dana Holding Corp. this year is celebrating its 25th anniversary as a supplier of Central Tire Inflation Systems (CTIS) to the military and commercial vehicle industries.
Initially developed to meet the demanding requirements of the U.S. military in 1984, Dana is now supplying CTIS to original equipment manufacturers in North America and several OEMs throughout the world.

During the product's 25-year history, Dana has secured more than 50 CTIS patents. CTIS provides the ability to deflate a vehicle's tires on-the-fly to create a bigger footprint to enhance vehicle mobility in off-highway applications, and is especially effective in soft, sandy soils. Dana CTIS can be configured to meet a variety of customer specific needs, including a variety of wheel valve and operator interface options. The product also supports industry standard data links to provide simple interfacing to on-board logistics and OEM defined operator interfaces, the manufacturer said.

In January Dana expanded its manufacturing assembly area for the Tire Management product line at the company's Henderson, Kentucky facility. The expansion also included new, modern, computer-controlled test machines which ensure that all products function according to vehicle manufacturer requirements.
