There will be fewer exhibitors at the Mid-America Trucking Show this year, but organizers are still promising a great event for the heavy-duty trucking industry, March 19-21 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Ky.

More than 860 companies have signed up to exhibit at the 2009 show, which will encompass more than 1 million square feet of indoor exhibit space and 200,000 square feet of outdoor exhibits and events.

This is fewer exhibitors than last year's nearly 1,200. Two big names will be missing, Kenworth and Peterbilt, who say they instead will be focusing more on customer events at plants and dealerships.

There are several specialized areas and events planned for the 2009 show, including the Paul K. Young Truck Beauty Championships, and Mobil Delvac will present Aaron Tippin, Halfway To Hazard, and Krista Marie in concert on Friday March 20 at 7:30 p.m.

There will be a Recruitment Center, an Internet and Technology Center and an Expediter Experience area. Sirius XM Satellite Radio will offer live broadcasts from the show, and the Midnight Trucking Radio Network will host bluegrass band The Grascals as well as other celebrities at their booth.
