Q. If I already use Geotab for ELD, do I need to do anything?

Transport Canada has a commitment to a June 12 rollout of the new Canadian ELD mandate, however there will be a “light enforcement period.” Early enforcement will consist of education and awareness with the goal of giving fleets sufficient time to obtain and install certified devices.
Although the enforcement will be progressive, it is still imperative that your fleet begins the implementation process as soon as possible, especially if you have a large, cross border fleet. In order to meet the deadline and help ensure your fleet is compliant in Canada, it is important to speak with your current provider to understand if they will be applying for certification, where they are in the certification process and if your current ELDs will be compliant by the deadline.
To help fleets get ahead of the mandate, Geotab already has a Canadian ruleset available and most updates are complete on the backend.
