Got Questions? Modern Telematics Best Practices

Q. We’re just getting rolling on implementing our ELDs ahead of the June 12 deadline. Will we make it?

With the June 12 rollout fast approaching, it is imperative that your fleet begins the implementation process as soon as possible, especially if you have a large, cross border fleet. In order to meet the deadline and help ensure your fleet is compliant in Canada, it is important to work as closely as possible with your ELD provider to understand where they are in the certification process and if your current ELDs will be compliant by the deadline. Given that the Canadian certification process is time and cost intensive, many ELD providers will not be submitting for certification. Because of this, if you are a cross border fleet it is critical that you ensure your provider is taking active steps to obtain certification in Canada. With a strong commitment to meeting the impending deadline, Geotab is currently in the process of submitting for third-party certification and expects to be certified well ahead of the deadline. Geotab also expects that there will be periodic recertification in Canada and is committed to staying on top of regulatory best practices and changes.
