The Service Specialists Association of Elgin, Ill., recently held its annual convention in San Diego focusing on the future of the spring repair industry and how to communicate with customers and employees better in order to build a successful business.
Featured speakers included several leading industry executives from around the country.

The convention also gave repair shops and suppliers a chance to mingle and network at the various events and sessions. Some of the networking opportunities occurred at the roundtable discussions, the receptions, the SSA Golf Scramble and the suppliers' tabletop exhibits.

"We realized that the economy was tough this year and making it out to San Diego was going to be difficult for the SSA members. But the turnout was fantastic, it really showed how much the SSA means to independent repair shops and suppliers," said Mark Rubini, 2008 SSA president.

The SSA is a trade association serving specialists in the truck repair industry. The group consists of specialists in spring (suspension), brake repair, frame and alignment service and parts distribution.
