Fleet FAQ

Got Questions? Modern Telematics Best Practices.

Q. With the 3G sunset going into effect, do I need to worry that it will affect my fleet’s ELDs?

A. You will if your ELD isn’t already 4Gcompatible. If your ELD is a 3G device, it will no longer work when your driver enters an area that is covered only by a 4G network.

Check with your provider to determine if your fleet’s ELDs are 3G. If they are 3G wireless devices, you will most likely need to work with your provider to develop a plan to transition to 4G to remain connected and compliant.

For Customers who are considering transitioning to Geotab from another ELD provider, we are assisting fleets in the installation of Geotab Drive, Geotab’s mobile application which helps to streamline ELD compliance, Driver Vehicle Inspection Reporting, Driver Identification, Messaging, and more.
