Mahle Clevite, Ann Arbor, Mich., announced its participation as a sponsor in the Technician of the Year Program.

Five of the aftermarket industry's top suppliers - Bendix, Dayton Parts, Haldex, Mahle Clevite and SKF - recognize the importance of well-trained technicians and heavy duty machinists in the commercial vehicle industry through this annual award. The search is on to find the best of the best and to honor one of them as the 2008 Technician of the Year.

Whether working for a trucking fleet, contributing to the performance of a municipal bus fleet or working as a heavy duty shop machinist, the 2008 Technician of the Year will receive national recognition and put his/her fleet or machine shop in the spotlight.

The Technician of the Year prize includes:
· A VIP trip to Orlando, Fla., for the winner and a guest, and the nominator - including airfare, hotel and entertainment
· Access to the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week Show
· National recognition in heavy-duty industry publications
· A one-day pass to select Disney World properties for the winner, his/her guest and the nominator

Fleet managers and machine shop managers may nominate a technician until Dec. 31, 2008, by completing the online nomination form at http://techoftheyear.com/nominate.html. A panel of independent judges from various heavy-duty industry organizations will choose a winner from the pool of applications.
