Fleet FAQ

Got Questions? Modern Telematics Best Practices

Q. With today’s tough economic times—how can I convince my leadership that it still makes sense to invest in telematics?

A. Today, more than ever, trucking fleets are relying on data to help remain competitive and efficient, and telematics is the primary way companies are acquiring these crucial data points.

Telematics provides fleets with routing, diagnostic and driver behavior data that helps give them an edge in remaining productive, on-schedule and safe on the road.

A telematics solution is also one of the only ways to get true insights into total cost of ownership (TCO) down to the penny by monitoring fuel use, uptime, and utilization. Dynamic preventive maintenance is also only possible with a telematics solution, which can provide unique insights on component wear and tear—which could also help point to driver behavior that needs to be modified or coached.

Finally, having access to these insights will help with vehicle acquisition and fleet right sizing strategies to make every penny count.
