SuperSprings International has designed a SumoSprings Solo “airless airbag” auxiliary spring for the 2014 Ram ProMaster cargo van.

The one-piece SumoSprings Solo is composed of a proprietary microcellular urethane that fills the gap left by a short factory bump stop, which it replaces.

A pair of the springs improves ride, reduces side-to-side body roll and eliminates sudden bottoming out, said Mike Visser, the company’s president. They offer a progressive spring rate that provides full support when needed, while also engaging smoothly.

Owners can install the springs using common tools.

“With SumoSprings, ProMaster users can upgrade the stock rear suspension without having to send the vehicle to a spring shop,” he said. “That way, there is no wasted time spent shuttling drivers back and forth, and the installation can be done whenever it is most convenient.”

SumoSprings are designed to be a maintenance-free, he said. Unlike traditional airbags, they will never sag or leak and require no compressor lines. SumoSprings are oil-, salt- and UV-resistant, and are durable even in harsh environments.

SumoSprings  for the ProMaster come in two densities: one for use with medium loads and one for heavy loads. Contact SuperSprings to help determine which density will work best based on a specific vehicle setup and intended use.

All SumoSprings are manufactured in the U.S.
