TMC, NASHVILLE -- Dana is adding two new Spicer S140 Series axles to the company’s lineup of single-reduction, single-drive axles for Class 6 and Class 7 vehicles. Dana says the new axles are up to 50 pounds lighter than competitive offerings.

The Spicer S140 Series drive axles feature GenTech gearing, which delivers automotive-level noise quality combined with increased torque capacity and durability. Intended applications include pickup & delivery, school bus, midi bus, motor home, municipal, and utility requiring gross axle weight ratings up to 21,000 pounds and gross combined weights up to 46,000 pounds.

These axles are available now with numerical ratios from 3.31:1 to 6.50:1. A high-capacity gearing and bearing system offers the durability and reliability required by today’s high-torque engines with increased horsepower.

“For many years, we have focused our considerable engineering resources on developing the most comprehensive lineup of reduced-weight drivetrain solutions for commercial vehicles,” said Pat D’Eramo, president of Dana Commercial Vehicle Driveline Technologies.
