Show Trucks Ready for PKY at Mid-America

We got out to the show and shine area just as the sun was dipping below the buildings. Even that late in the day the cleaning and polishing was going on at a brisk pace.

Show truckers were on site at the Mid-America Trucking Show Wednesday with the polish out and the rags a-flying, and Jim Park was there with his camera to capture final touches being put on the trucks for the Paul K. Young Truck Beauty Championship.

MATS Pre-Show

Wednesday, March 25, the day before the Mid-America Trucking Show opened officially at the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center in Louisville, Ky., the trucking press gathered for media day and the MATS Fleet Forum educated fleet and supplier attendees on topics such as the economy and autonomous trucks, while HDT honored its 2015 Truck Fleet Innovators.

Goodyear's San Angelo Proving Grounds

Goodyear has a 7,000 acre testing and proving grounds in San Angelo, Texas, about 300 miles southwest of Dallas. Heavy Duty Trucking spent a day there in early March observing some of the tests and learning about the company's latest FuelMax tires.

Ford F-750 Tonka Dump Truck

Truck Dealer of the Year Nominees

Visiting Volvo's New River Valley Plant

This giant pickup truck was a custom project done by plant employees for fun. (Read more here.) The latest project is a custom fire truck.

The new members of American Trucking Associations' America's Road Team got to tour Volvo's New River Valley plant and take delivery of their new truck. Editor in Chief Deborah Lockridge was there and took these photos.
