Mascot Truck Parts has opened a full-service driveshaft repair facility in Plainfield, Ind., remanufacturing company announced.

Mascot is a wholesale remanufacturer of heavy truck differentials, transmissions, steering components and drivelines. Last year, Mascot established its U.S. headquarters in Plainfield, located less than 6 miles from the Indianapolis airport, which FedEx uses as a national hub.

“After our initial move and receiving feedback from local customers, we recognized the need to accelerate our planned expansion into driveshaft repair and manufacturing for this local market,” said Dwight Treen, operations manager for Mascot.

The new facility offers Spicer and Meritor components primarily for medium- to heavy-duty vehicle classes as well as build-to-order manufacturing for customers in Indiana and across the country. It will also offer driveshaft repair services for the local market.

The company has studied the courier transit time to existing customers, particularly in the South and West, and believes it can improve delivery times and lower freight costs for its customers.

“By opening this facility in Plainfield, we will free up additional capacity at our primary ISO9001-certified driveshaft facility in Mississauga, Ontario, and continue to provide superior service in the local Ontario market, while remaining committed to our loyal partners across North America, who rely on our unit down shipments every day,” said Bill Statham, president of Mascot Truck Parts.
