Heavy Duty Trucking magazine has announced its Top 50 Green Fleets for 2016, trucking companies that are leading the industry in the adoption of green, sustainable practices, policies, and technologies.

Heavy Duty Trucking magazine has announced its Top 50 Green Fleets for 2016, trucking companies that are leading the industry in the adoption of green, sustainable practices, policies, and technologies.

The Top 50 Green Fleets are chosen by HDT’s editors. Candidates for the award are nominated online or found through gathering publicly available information, such as websites, case studies, and news reports.

Honorees include companies of all types and sizes. There are government fleets, private fleets, for-hire fleets, and truckload, less-than-truckload, vocational and delivery fleets. Some fleets have fewer than 50 trucks, others have more than 5,000, but all fleets have made a commitment to green, sustainable operations. That may include alternative fuels, top fuel mileage and freight efficiency for lower greenhouse gas emissions, energy-saving facilities, recycling programs, etc.
