The Truckload Carriers Administration has awarded its Past Chairman’s Award to Dan England, chairman of the board of C.R. England and former chairman of TCA.

The Past Chairmen’s award is TCA’s highest honor and is awarded to leaders who have made significant contributions to the business community, the trucking industry and TCA. Counterintuitive to the title of the award, the winner does not have to be a past chairman of the association.

The award was presented to England during TCA’s recent Annual Convention in Las Vegas.

England has been an active member of TCA and served as the association’s chairman from 1997-1998. He held several officer positions leading up to his chairmanship and participated in committees and chaired TCA’s Refrigerated and Company Equipment divisions. He is also a former chairman of the American Trucking Associations and the Utah Trucking Association.

England was noted for his community service portfolio, which includes membership on the Select Health Board of Trustees and the board of Intermountain Donor Services. He currently serves on the national advisory boards of the University of Utah and the David Eccles School of Business.

C.R. England is a family owned and operated company. England joined the business in 1977 as its legal counsel. In 1982, he was promoted to general manager and in 1988 he was named CEO. He was elected chairman of the board in 2005.
