Schneider’s president and CEO, Chris Lofgren, has named Mark Rourke the company’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.

In his new role, Rourke will be accountable for the day-to-day operations of the company with all North American service offerings reporting up through him.

The changes to the company’s leadership structure are seen as a move to adjust Schneider’s strategic positioning.

“While Mark will now oversee our day-to-day operations, I will focus more time on the strategic growth of our business and long-term positioning,” said Lofgren. “Additionally, as the regulatory and compliance environment continually evolves, it requires more external engagement.”

Rourke has been with Schneider since 1987 and has held a variety of leadership roles. He has served as the president of truckload services, general manager of Schneider Transportation Management, vice president of customer service and director of driver training.

“Schneider is looking to grow both organically and through acquisition to increase its market share,” said Lofgren. “This new structure will enable that and accelerate our ability to create value for customers, associates and our business.”
