Cargomatic announced that Sean Whiteley has joined the company as its chief operating officer charged with overseeing operations, sales and marketing efforts for the company.

Cargomatic is a technology platform connecting shippers to available truck capacity and drivers. It also allows drivers to fill underutilized space on their trucks and promotes efficient driving routes to save money and time.

The company also announced that co-founder Brett Parker will transition into the role of president and chief commercial officer to focus on corporate strategy and enterprise account development.

Whiteley has years of experience as a tech executive previously working at several start-ups in various roles including COO of TigerText, vice president of operations for Slingshot Labs, CEO and co-founder of RealtyTracker and vice president of operations of Xdrive Technologies.

"Sean's extensive, hands-on background in technology start-ups will prove invaluable to Cargomatic as we continue our mission to modernize B2B logistics," said Jonathan Kessler Cargomatic co-founder and CEO.

Whiteley received his BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz and an MBA from USC’s Marshall School of Business.

"Cargomatic truly has the potential to disrupt the multi-billion dollar trucking industry in a manner that benefits shippers, drivers, and the environment alike," said Whiteley. "I'm thrilled to be along for the ride."
