Mack Trucks will be implementing its Mack GuardDog Connect integrated telematics system to monitor critical fault codes for trucks equipped with Mack mDrive automated manual transmissions.

GuardDog Connect for mDrive and mDrive HD will be available on model year 2016 trucks equipped with onboard diagnostics for 2015 emissions controls. GuardDog Connect has been standard on the Mack Pinnacle, Mack Granite and Titan by Mack models since 2013 and, beginning in April, it will come to Mack TerraPro concrete pumpers.

The system monitors fault codes that could shut down a truck or lead to unplanned serivce calls. Mack said It enables a quick diagnosis of issues and will proactively schedule repairs and confirmation that the needed parts are in stock-- while the truck is still in the field.

GuardDog Connect is managed through Mack’s Uptime Center, which connects customers and dealers with the latest telematics, communications and case management tools to enable teams to take preventive action by monitoring maintenance and scheduling face-to-face interactions when needed.

The mDrive transmission is currently standard on the Mack Pinnacle and the mDrive HD is standard as of March on the Mack Granite and Titan by Mack models.
