The regional less-than-truckload carrier Holland is relocating its headquarters to a larger facility due to growing business, according to parent YRC Worldwide Inc.

The company is set to begin operations at its new location on Dec. 8 but will remain in the same city where it was founded, Holland, Michigan.

The move is from a 50,000 square foot building to a new 85,000 square foot headquarters, less than a mile from the prior location at 750 East 40th Street.

"In 1929, our original headquarters was the home of our founders, John and Katherine Cooper, where billing was handled by Kitty at the kitchen table. As their trucking business prospered, headquarters moved to West 6th Street and then moved again in the 1930s to an old canning factory on 1 West 4th Street and Central. In 1972, the 750 East 40th Street location became our home for almost 43 years. And now, we move to 700 South Waverly Road and set the stage for continued growth and success for the years ahead," said Scott Ware, president of Holland.
