The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has published new information to answer common questions from trucking industry stakeholders about its Compliance, Safety and Accountability program, commonly known as CSA.

Six new factsheets are available as part of the agency's “Get Road Smart Q&A” series along with updated industry and driver presentations.

The “Get Road Smart” Q&A series of factsheets include:

  • What is CSA—and how does it affect me?
  • I got a warning letter—what do I do?
  • What happens if I don’t improve my safety performance and compliance?
  • What are the differences between a BASIC percentile, a safety rating, and a “score”?
  • FMCSA data: Just the facts for drivers
  • I had a citation associated with a roadside violation dismissed in a judicial proceeding—can I change my safety record?

Among the updated industry and driver presentations there are:

  • Get Road Smart: Drivers and the CSA program.
  • Get Road Smart: Motor carriers and the CSA program.

The new materials can be found in the Driver Safety Education Center and the Motor Carrier Resource Center on the CSA website.

How about a few more Q&A factsheets:

"Now that Ferro punched her golden ticket and moved on, what are we supposed to do with this turd of a program?".

"I was legally parked along the road, sleeping in the bunk and a drunk driver veered off the pavement, smashed my truck and now I have an accident on my CSA score. What moron thought of this program?".

Please feel free to add your own.
