Mack Trucks is sponsoring the American Trucking Association’s Share the Road safety program for the 13th year, and donating a Mack Pinnacle Axle Back sleeper featuring a 505 horsepower MP8 505C engine and an automated manual transmission.

Share the Road sends truck drivers with great safety records across the country to conduct driving demonstrations for students, motorists and other groups. The program teaches drivers how to understand topics like truck stopping distances and blind spots in order to more effectively share the road with large trucks.

“Share the road is recognized nationwide as a model education program,” said Bill Graves, the association's president and CEO. “With the generous donation of this new Mack Pinnacle model, we will be able to reach millions of people with our message of highway safety.”

The 70-inch high-rise Mack Pinnacle truck is equipped with safety features like Mack Roll Stability Advantage and Wingman Advanced adaptive cruise control from Bendix. The adaptive cruise control is designed to help drivers avoid collisions by integrating throttle, engine brake and foundations brakes into the cruise control functionality.
