Retail sales for Classes 5 through 8 in North American posted solid gains in April according to the latest State of the Industry report, recently released by ACT Research.

“Class 8 retail sales rose 6% month over month to their best reading in six months at 23,100 units, and the strongest sales months of the year are yet to come,” said Steve Tam, vice president-commercial vehicle sector at ACT Research.

Classes 5 through Class 7 retail sales rose nearly 14% month over month to 20,100 units, their highest level since March 2007. Year to date, Class 8 sales are up 9% and Classes 5 through 7 sales are up 13%.
