Owner-operators and small to mid-sized fleets now have full access to the many advantages previously offered only to the largest fleets. The Smart Fleet Program from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company offers published pricing on premium Goodyear tires, 24/7 road service and more.

“The new Goodyear Smart Fleet program has been designed for customers who want ‘the best of the best’ and gives owner-operators through mid-size fleets access to benefits that up until now were reserved for Goodyear national account fleets,” said Jose Martinez, business solutions manager, Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems.

On a conference call with trade media, Martinez said Goodyear sought input from its target market to find out what they were looking for in a competitive tire program. He says they brought the voice of the owner-operator and small to mid-sized fleet into the company to ensure the program would satisfy their needs.

"Our research told us that certain features were critical for the program's success," he notes. "Competitive published pricing was something almost 90% of the fleets we asked told us was critical. So was reliable 24-hour, seven-day-a-week road service. Smart delivers on both counts."

The Goodyear Smart Fleet program includes:

  • Access to premium Goodyear branded truck tires and technologies, including FuelMax and DuraSeal tires,
  • Online, published pricing on new tires, retreads and services, honored by participating, authorized Goodyear commercial tire dealerships,
  • 24/7 roadside service program offered through the Goodyear-FleetHQ suite of business solutions,
  • Customized tire performance and service activity reporting,
  • Tools to help fleets lower their operating costs, and more.

Martinez said in order to maintain the brand strength of the program, Goodyear's Dunlop and Kelly brand tires are not offered. Goodyear's full line of retread products are included, along with a suite of other tire tracking and tire management services -- just like the big fleets get. And of course the published price in the price you pay, regardless of the size of the operation.

“All prices will be published at national account rates, which eliminates uncertainty around price,” said Martinez. “Smart Fleet members will receive the same pricing at any participating Goodyear commercial tire dealership nationwide, so there are no pricing surprises, whether on the road or at home.”

Smart Fleet members also will have the ability to streamline the scheduling of tire and service appointments by providing relevant information online, ahead of time, he said.

“Members of Goodyear’s extensive commercial tire and service network, which encompasses more than 2,200 locations nationwide, are ready to assist Smart Fleet members with the products and services they need to keep their trucks up and running.”

To sign up for the new Goodyear Smart Fleet program, go to www.goodyeartrucktires.com/smartfleet, click on the “Join Now” button, click on “Apply Now,” and fill out and submit an easy-to-complete application form. There are no credit checks, customers pay with their own credit cards.

Once approved, Smart Fleet members will receive a welcome package from Goodyear that includes detailed program and contact information, an identification card with a unique membership number, relevant tire and retread specs and pricing, a list of the top three recommended, authorized Goodyear commercial tire dealerships in their area, and more.

“Enrollment in Goodyear Smart Fleet is quick and easy,” said Martinez, who added that there is no cost to join the Goodyear Smart Fleet program.
