East Manufacturing has named Andrew Grow as Director of Engineering. He will manage the Engineering and Customer Service/Warranty departments, overseeing the design and development of products that meet the goals of the company as well as the needs of East customers.

In his new role, Grow will be responsible for improving current product and future product designs. He will look for ways to facilitate positive effects on manufacturing which will result in cost improvement opportunities. He will work closely with the Vice President of Manufacturing & Plant Management to meet quality, delivery cost and growth goals of the company. In his position, Grow will report to Dave de Poincy, president.

Grow has 15 years of experience engineering liftgates for Waltco. In his 23-year career, he has obtained two patents and received the Nortech Innovation Award for design and development of a new side door liftgate.

In addition to his engineering experience, Grow has pioneered co-operative education programs for engineering departments, successfully instructed plant operations and undertaken risk management analysis. Grow was formerly employed as a senior mechanical engineer at Alphas Technologies and spent four years prior to Waltco as a power plant engineer at Ohio Edison Co.

He received his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Akron in 1991.
