The Teamsters Union and UPS Freight have agreed to an extension of the current UPS Freight National Agreement in order to give the parties time to continue negotiations.

The extension does not have a specific end date, but can be terminated by either side with a 30-day notice.

This means that the current agreement will remain in place until the agreement has been revoted and accepted by the members. Any increases in wages and pensions will be made retroactively to Aug. 1, but will not take effect until the agreement has been revoted and agreed to.

In June Teamster members at UPS Freight overwhelmingly voted down a new five-year deal at UPS Freight with the current contract set to expire at the end of this month while those at UPS’ parcel operations signed off on a new Master Contract, while turning back some side agreements.
