UPS employees represented by the Teamsters Union have voted to approve a new contract at the company’s parcel operation while those with UPS Freight have voted against a new agreement.

The National Master contract, which covers approximately 235,000 full and part-time employees in the United States, was negotiated well in advance of the current contract's expiration of July 31, and will extend contract coverage through July 31, 2018.

While the National Master contract was approved, the union today informed the company that the agreement covering UPS Freight employees and some local agreements require additional negotiation. The contract expires at the end of July.

UPS Freight Teamsters Union members rejected the contract 4,244 to 1,897.

UPS says it s committed to quickly resolving remaining issues on UPS Freight and supplemental agreements, adding this is part of the normal negotiating process and is confident that these contracts will be resolved soon.
