Carlile Transportation Systems, a trucking company based in Alaska, has been acquired by Saltchuck Resources on May 31.

Saltchuck is a privately-held transportation company based out of Seattle.

Based on a report from KTUU.com, "Carlile, with its 700 employees, will remain a standalone company and joins Saltchuck’s national team of 5,500 people."

The report also states that Saltchuck Chairman Mark Tabbutt has stated that "there are no plans to change the company in any significant way."
