"It's disappointing that the state beats up its trucking industry like that,"

That is the reaction of Michael Riley, president of Motor Transport Association of Connecticut, who was quoted by the Republican-American newspaper about a fuel tax hike that will take effect in his state on July 1st

The tax will move 3.7 cents higher to 54.9 cents per gallon,  maintaining the state's title of having the highest diesel tax in the nation. The increases follows two totaling 8.6 cents per gallon the previous two years.
