Troy A. Clarke, the newly named president and chief operating officer of Navistar International, will deliver the keynote address at SAE International's 2012 Commercial Vehicle Engineering Conference this week.

The 2012 event, "Total Vehicle Integration: Engineering the Next Vehicle Revolution," is set for Oct. 2-3 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.

Clarke will deliver the keynote at the conference's annual banquet today.

The two-day convention - known familiarly as COMVEC - features technological seminars addressing engineering issues for on-highway, off-highway and military commercial vehicles.

Clarke was named to his new positions on Aug. 27, less than two months after being named president of Navistar's truck and engine division. Prior to that, Clarke had served as president of Navistar Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for leading the company's global growth initiatives.

He joined Navistar in December 2010 after a 35-year career with General Motors. Clarke held a variety of positions at General Motors, including president of GM North America and GM group vice president.

Corrected 12:55 EDT 10/2 to correct title: Clarke was named president and COO on August 27, not CEO as originally reported.
