The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that the ramp from westbound I-64 to eastbound I-55/70 in East St. Louis will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, July 23, 2012, weather permitting.

This ramp closure is necessary to remove retaining walls and construct new bridges associated with the new Mississippi River Bridge. All traffic will be detoured around this area using I-255 to I-55/70. This work is expected to be completed by January 31, 2013.
