Wabash National Corp. loaned a semi-trailer to transport supplies for American Red Cross tornado relief efforts in southern Indiana after tornados devastated the area last month.

Wabash, headquartered in Lafayette, Ind., supports numerous non-profit organizations through monetary donations and volunteer hours.

United Way of Greater Lafayette recently recognized Wabash National Corp. for its efforts with a Merit Award for Best Practices. In addition, Michele Tyson, coordinator for Wabash National's campaign, received United Way's Employee Campaign Coordinator Award for increased awareness, participation and results from her efforts.

During the past year, Wabash National associates devoted more than 2,000 volunteer hours to Food Finders Food Bank Hunger Hike, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army Coats for Kids, Arc of Tippecanoe County Kids Night Out, Mental Health America, Lafayette Transitional Housing, the Purdue University Reamer Club and several other organizations.
